INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 ripe avocados
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • ¼ red onion (finely diced)
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • ½ jalapeño (finely diced, optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cucumber (cut into sticks)
  • 2 carrots (cut into sticks)
  • 1 red bell pepper (cut into strips)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prep the avocados. Cut avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  2. Mash to your texture. Mash with a fork — keep it chunky for more texture. Add lime juice immediately to prevent browning.
  3. Add the mix-ins. Fold in cilantro, red onion, garlic, and jalapeño if using. Season with salt. Taste and adjust — more lime for brightness, more salt for depth.
  4. Prepare veggie sticks. Cut cucumber, carrots, and bell pepper into sticks. Arrange neatly on a serving board or plate alongside a bowl of guacamole.
  5. Serve immediately. Serve right away for best freshness. If making ahead, press plastic wrap directly onto the guacamole surface, leaving no air, and refrigerate for the up to 24 hours.

💚 Why It's Good For You

  • Avocados are one of the most nutrient-dense foods — loaded with healthy fats, fiber, and potassium
  • Lime juice provides vitamin C and keeps the guacamole from oxidizing
  • Veggie sticks instead of chips dramatically reduce calorie, sodium, and saturated fat intake
  • Jalapeño contains capsaicin which boosts metabolism and reduces inflammation

💡 Tips & Swaps

No-brown trick: Press plastic wrap directly on the guacamole surface with zero air contact.

Ripe avocado test: Press gently — it should yield slightly but not feel mushy.

Swap dippers: Use celery, endive leaves, or jicama sticks.
